The directions were very difficult to follow at times and some pieces needed to be taken apart and redone once it was realized the wrong screws were used. This may be in pat because some of the screws for the chairs less than a quarter inch smaller (or larger if your prefer) than the other. Once we figured out what we were doing, it took two people a total of ten hours (five hours each) to assemble it.
However, it was worth it as the finished product is beautiful. It looks far more expensive than what I have paid for it. I have received multiple compliments one it and am very pleased with it. Unlike some furniture that is put together, this does not look like it was and is very, very sturdy.
